Review: Pho Tai

Pho Tai

2625 Old Denton Rd #322, Carrollton, TX 75007

In my opinion, Vietnamese food should ONLY run by Vietnamese people. Sounds like common sense but some type of cuisine can be run by other ethnicity and it just as good but this is what happen when Vietnamese joint run by other ethnicity.

Korean people in USA are famous for organized and clean restaurant and Pho Tai falls in that category. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and well organized. The feng shui in the restaurant makes you feel like home BUT......

From the very first encounter was the beginning of the disappointment, I'll have to be frank here: old Asian people especially Korean, can't run service business. As soon as we walked in we were judged from head to toe in once glance from the staff. And they just don't care about customers, and moreover gossip about customers in front of their face just because they think the customers don't understand them. Young Korean blood on the other hand are excellent in the hospitality industry, but we'll get to that in a later post. Anyway, when we looked at the menu, we realized that the price was quite high for pho, but we gave it a try anyway, based on how clean and well organized the restaurant is.

Very organized condiments. So clean to the eyes.

Clean glasses, you can see every detail in the cup.

+1 for water filtration system!

Bun Bo Xao

Beef Pho

Now to the food part. Bland, bland, bland, and tasteless. A very disappointing meal we had, and not impressed with the service. Nevertheless, the ingredients are very fresh and clean, noodles texture is just right. So bottom line is they got everything right except the heart and soul of the restaurant, which is service and flavor. I do not recommend this place, but if you are careless about flavor and service this place is gold star.
